REALTORS Care® has been established to showcase the volunteer work and community involvement of REALTORS® in our community. The Calgary Real Estate Board Charitable Foundation ® has partnered with the Canadian REALTORS Care® Foundation to collect, share and promote the excellent charitable activities our local offices and REALTORS® do and the resulting impact on communities or contributions made.

Information collected will be shared within organized real estate as great ideas in one place are often the cause for doing something similar in another place. We may also use the information in public publications and our website to promote REALTOR® contributions in their communities.

2009 Appreciation Event Recognizes Volunteers and Donors

On December 2, 2009 during its Annual Appreciation Event, The Calgary Real Estate Board (CREB®) Charitable Foundation contributed $77,000 in grants to four charities: Boys and Girls Club of Calgary’s Avenue 15 and Safe House programs, the Calgary Drop-In Centre’s Bridgeland Manor Senior’s Housing program, Wood’s Homes’ Transitional Apartments program, and the YWCA’s Mary Dover House.

“We are so proud to contribute to these organizations, which help Calgarians in need receive adequate shelter,” says Rita Shannon, president of the CREB® Charitable Foundation. The work of these organizations is entirely aligned with CREB® Charitable Foundation’s programs and its mandate”.

The Calgary Real Estate Board (CREB®) Charitable Foundation would not exist without donations and support from the tireless efforts of Calgary and area REALTORS®.
