Since its inception in 1987, the CREB® Charitable Foundation has contributed more than $4.2 million to a wide range of charities and non-profit organizations in Calgary and area communities.

As one of a very few member-based foundations, CREB® Charitable Foundation holds a unique place in the philanthropic world. Made up of a membership of more than 5,000 REALTOR® and community members, the CREB® Charitable Foundation exists to promote the charitable and philanthropic activities of its members as well as to provide funding to shelter and community enhancement initiatives in Calgary and area. The CREB® Charitable Foundation is dedicated to furthering the positive image of Calgary and area REALTORS® in the communities in which we live and work.

Over the past 25 years, through CREB® Charitable Foundation, Calgary and area REALTORS® have worked with communities to develop innovative and sustainable solutions to shelter-related needs and initiatives. They have provided funding to a wide range of charities and non-profit organizations including: the Boys and Girls Club of Calgary, Brenda Strafford Society, Calgary Drop-In Centre, Hospice Calgary, Inn From the Cold, Wood’s Homes, YWCA and the Crestwood project - a 60-unit affordable housing project in Ogden-Millican.

CREB® Charitable Foundation 25th Anniversary Grant Program

2012 is the 25th anniversary of CREB® Charitable Foundation. To commemorate this anniversary, the Foundation has launched the 25 for 25 program. On behalf of Calgary and area REALTORS®, the Foundation will be distributing 25 gifts of $25,000 each to 25 charities and/or non-profit organizations in the communities where Calgary and area REALTORS® live and work. This distribution will take place throughout 2012 culminating in a gala luncheon event in early November.

Grants will be given out for projects that fall into the categories of Vulnerable Populations, Shelter, and Community Enhancement.

The first 10 of these grants are currently being brought forward and selected by the Board of Governors of CREB® Charitable Foundation. The remaining 15 will be nominated and voted on by Calgary and area REALTORS® beginning in July of this year.
